Oh, YEAH!!!

Well, this time the weathermen had it right! About 5:00 last night it began spitting sleet and by 6:00 it had turned to a mixture of ice and snow. We went ahead and took the boys to see the Wizard of Oz (the high school play that we had already bought tickets for) and made an early exit since the roads out to our house were getting bad. As a special treat, when we got home I let the boys get in my big bed with me (Brandon was still at work). We opened the blinds to the sliding glass door in my room and turned the lights out and watched the snow fall. It was very special for all three of us. We all fell asleep watching the snow and with visions of snowmen, snowballs and snow angels dancing in our heads. We knew that when morning came we would be in for a real treat!

The boys were up by 7:00 am this morning and the first thing Lawson did was run to our room to look out the blinds to see the snow. He was so excited! He wanted to go out right then! We bundled up as Brandon headed to town to pick my mom up so she could join the fun and by 8:00 bright and early we were outside in our winter-wonderland!

We all had such a good time! We laughed, threw snowballs (which mostly turned to powder)and just enjoyed each other so much! Even Barney joined us this morning. He was so protective of Jagger. Jagger would fall to the ground (on purpose) and roll around in the snow. Barney could not understand and was right there hovering over him each time he fell to make sure he was ok.

After playing for about an hour we came in and made a big breakfast--well, big for us! I am not much of a breakfast cook. But today we had eggs, bacon, bisquits and yummy hashbrown casserole! It was the perfect thing after being out in the cold snow.

This afternoon the sun has melted most of it away, but thanks to cameras and good memories we will enjoy this snow long after it melts! Above are a few pictures from our morning. Hope you enjoy!
