Today was Lawson's last day at pre-school before Christmas break. He attends Noah's Ark pre-school here in town. His teachers are great and he loves school (most days. Ha.) The teachers and children all worked really hard getting together a play for the parents and grandparents to enjoy. They did a play about the birth of Jesus.
Lawson had told me that he would play the part of a shepherd. I asked him if he talked any (had any lines) during the play and all he would say was that they sang LOTS and LOTS of songs. He told me it was all a secret but then preceded to tell me what they sang about, the motions to the songs, etc. Ha.
He was so excited about performing on the stage. He made sure we all knew to be there, including his little brother Jagger and Nana and Grandaddy. We all made sure we were there and his face lit up once he saw his cheering section!
Because of my little camera, I didn't get very many good shots during the performance but Brandon videoed it. After it was over Lawson told me he was a "star". Ha. He doesn't like the spotlight at all (notice the hint of sarcasm?)
Afterwards we had refreshments and enjoyed time with his friends parents. It was an enjoyable day and when we came home he proclaimed it the "best school ever!"
Lawson was in deep concentration, focusing on when he was to ring his bell.
Great friends, Becky and Melissa
Cherri's little girl was born almost exactly a month before Rhett. Her middle son is also Lawson's age and in his pre-school class.Ornament for the day:
I got this ornament several years back when we were on vacation. When we go some place I always like to try to buy an ornament for the tree to remember that trip. A few years ago we were at Florida one of my favorite places in the world. Now anyone that knows me well knows that I HATE birds. I HATE them. They make my skin turn inside out.
One morning on the beach Brandon decided he would try to feed the seagulls! Not a smart idea. We were swarmed by birds in a matter of 4 milliseconds! I had never seen so many birds and man, were they aggressive! I was so mad at him for giving them reason to camp out right in front of us! It seemed they followed us all day! Anyway, when I saw this ornament I knew it would always remind me of that trip! I didn't say all ornaments had good stories--just stories! Ha. =)
