Finally...

Lawson took this picture of the girls (+Jagger) this weekend after our cookout. I thought he did a good job! :)

Well, it has been a little while, but I'm finally getting a chance to do a little more posting and updating. We've had a busy week and a half. Uncle Jordan has come to stay for a few weeks while he is on break and we have put him to work! (As if he didn't need a break!) In the short week he's been here, we've (he, Brandon, dad and Papa) finished the swing set, set out shrubs and completed 90% of the landscaping project. This house is really starting to take shape. We planted flowers, cleaned out flower beds, set out tiki torches and just made some minor improvements that have made our place our own. I'll post a few pictures of the swing set project. The landscaping pictures will wait until we are completely finished and then I'll post those as well.

And the project begins... notice all the hundreds of pieces!

The finished product! Isn't it beautiful? The boys are SO proud!

So, on top of all their hard work, mom and I participated in our first 5K on Saturday morning. We were pretty proud of ourselves for just having completed it! We didn't do too bad, either! When we got home we started preparing for a bonfire cookout. Jordan's birthday was April 10 and mom's was the 22nd so this was a combined birthday celebration for them--a little late. The bonfire was so fun. We had all the family over, minus Glenn. We missed you Uncle Glenn! I'll add some pictures of that as well. It was lots of fun and we ate until we were miserable. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and smores....UMMMM! It just doesn't get any better!

All in all, this was a great weekend. We got lots done and enjoyed doing it. My father-in-law always gets a kick out of one of my grandma's sayings--"We just had a good time doing it!" That just sums up our weekend. We all did end up a little puny after it was said and done. Allergies, I suspect from being outside non-stop for a few days but being outside was just what we needed!

A couple of weeks ago when the weather was cold we took advantage of our indoor time and got Rhett's room painted. I already had the bedding so even though it is WAY early, we went ahead and set up the furniture. Now all we have left to do are the finishing touches like hanging things on the wall, etc. It feels nice to be ahead of schedule, though. Here is a picture of his nursery so far.

I'll end the post now with one last picture. I snapped this while we were outside playing this weekend. It is a picture of my sweet Jagger. He had the dirtiest face but I think that is one of the things I love most about little boys! They are just boys! We were walking in the house tonight and saw all the muddy little boots on the carport from all the work that has been done. Mom made a comment about the little muddy boots and it just made me smile. It lets me know that we have a house full of hard workers and little helpers! I'll try to do better in the future of posting more regularly! Until next time...
