While visiting with our KY family we were able to go up the hill to "Camp Bruce". Camp Bruce is a cabin that has been built from the ground up by the family. This cabin is really special. Not special because it is fancy--fancy it is not. But, special because it takes you back to simpler times--something I wish we could do more often--reflect on simpler times.
While Brandon was in this weekend they had him and Mikey move an old iron cooktop stove in. There is not a lot of furniture in there at the moment. Eventually they plan to move a bed in as well as a wood stove for warmth. Some of the leaves were still on the trees up on the hill which made the view from the cabin breathtaking. I can only imagine what it looked like up there a few week or two ago. I'll bet it was beautiful! Below are some pictures taken while at the cabin.
Brandon and Mikey. Behind them is where the table will go.
Aunt Barbie, Granny Alice and boys at the cabin.
