Chaotic Happiness, Take One!

In all the hustle and bustle of welcoming back sunshine and warmth we've managed to keep ourselves overly occupied. It's been a happy occupied though. Let's see...some high-lights...

*Easter came and went. We had both sides of our families present so that made it extra special.

I had the three most handsome little boys ever and they thoroughly enjoyed hunting eggs.

The best was when Rhett shook one of his eggs and noticed it had something inside. His face was hysterical when he learned that it was chocolate! That's my boy!

*Impromptu football game that broke out in our backyard between all the Young boys. I love watching them all play together!

*Several rounds of storms did a lot of damage nearby but we were able to escape with just minor flooding. When the weather maps are covered in red and yellow as far as the radar can see, you know it's going to be a long night! Random discovery: pay the extra money for a good, customizable weather radio. The cheap ones will keep you up all night--even when the threat of weather in your area is passed!

*Mother's day was extra special. I've learned that being the only girl in the house definitely has it's advantages! There are no drama queens to compete with (since boys are not really about drama) so they gave me the full pampered experience and my reign was quite nice. I was gifted with a "World's Greatest Mom" coffee mug and lots of flowers. Two of my men worked especially hard creating a new flower bed for me to enjoy!

*Days when the flowers are in bloom and the grass is freshly cut make me stop and notice just how blessed I am. There is nothing like sitting back and admiring a hard day's work. And just look at the results. It is paradise!

*Relaxing at dusk while the smallest sliver of the moon creeps higher and higher above my favorite tree makes me happy. If there's anything I love more than that tree its the silhouette of it in the glow of a fading sunset. Ahhhhh...

*Seeing my peanut decked out in cap and gown and watching him sign the alphabet and show off all his skills he's acquired throughout the year. For a hot second I could have totally been that sappy mother crying uncontrollably because of the time that is running through my hands like sand! But, I held it together. Sending him to Kindergarten may be a different story. He's totally ready for Kindergarten. Not exactly sure that Kindergarten is ready for this crew!

*Perhaps not the happiest of news, but the baby bed has come down for the last time at the Young house. My babies are growing up.

*This just cracks me up. Lawson has such a creative little imagination. He made an "airplane" out of a cardboard box. Time and many "flights" had taken its toll on the said airplane so I thought it was time to send it to the hanger for good. When I looked inside the box, this is what I saw. Lawson had made his own "self-destruct" button. Notice the spelling. So cute.

*Just look at my beautiful parents. I love this picture of them. And, for the record, I love them, too.
Photobucket
*Happiness in two words: these guys.
