How do you get a colicky baby to quit crying and sleep? Just do a little laundry. Talk about multi-tasking! Ha. One of my friends sent this suggestion my way and we'll just say that it works---for a while, anyway. And before any of you go turning me in to children's services, yes, I stood there right beside him the whole time. :)

Yes, we've tried it all!

Go Broncos!!!
Every football season brings with it the excuse to pull out the navy and orange. Really, Brandon needs no excuse but we try to reserve the outfits for the kids for this special time of year. In the past we've always tried to take a picture of Brandon and his boy(s) dressed in their attire. I must admit that it is one of a daddy's proudest moments. :) Here is the picture from when Jagger was a baby and then our most recent picture with Rhett. I think next year we're going to have to buy more clothing as they are all outgrowing their get-ups!

Hmmmmm....
As I was uploading pictures from my camera onto my computer I found a few surprises. Looks like my biggies share my love of taking pictures. It was funny to see some of the pictures as I uploaded them. After seeing them you'll know why I didn't have to wonder who had gotten my camera! :)

A visit with friends on the farm.

Today, mom, the boys and I made a trip to visit friends in Columbia. My former boss, Barry, moved there a little over a year ago. We have been wanting to go and visit ever since his family moved there but never got the chance. When I started my maternity leave I vowed that I was going to make every moment count by going places and visiting our favorite people.
They boys adore Mr. Barry. He took them around on his farm. They got to see the cows, take a tractor ride, see Mr. Carter's cabin, see the creek, pick apples to feed horses, etc. They had a ball! They were both crying before we even pulled out of the driveway to come home! Jagger said, "I miss him already!" Mr. Barry has made buddies for life I feel sure.
The cows used to live in the field behind our house. When we first moved to this house the boys loved to sit at the glass door and watch the cows. They missed them when Mr. Barry moved them. They were excited to see them again. They walked right up to the cows and one cow looked at the boys as if she recognized them. Ha.
Mrs. Tina and Ms. Haley spent the day looking after Rhett. They said he was a very good boy. Guess it is easy to be good for such sweet ladies.
I'm thankful for friends that we keep in touch with, for boys who were mostly well behaved, for a mom that made the day trip with me and for weather that held off so we could enjoy time outside for a while. Here are some pictures from our day.

Guess what I got???
Yep, that's right! I got some smiles today!!! As some of you may or may not know, we've had our hands full with little Rhett. He has just been so uncomfortable and just hasn't felt good at all. He seems that he can never get comfortable and just fusses all the time. Basically, if he's awake, he's crying. It has been a very challenging few days to say the least. Everyone tells me he's colicky. No fun!
So, desperate to find something to help my sweet baby, I've tried what some will view to be an unconventional method. As of yesterday, we've started taking him to see a chiropractor. Yesterday I would have told you it didn't help him, but today, we've seen a new baby! He's actually felt pretty good. As a mom I feel the need to fix whatever is wrong with my baby. So, after consulting "Dr. Vickery" who happens to be studying to be a chiropractor he advised me that it would definitely help! We have another appointment tomorrow as well and are hoping for even more improvement. I'm a believer!
Apparently when babies are born they have to go through quite a lot (that was sarcasm) and it puts quite a bit of trauma on their little spines. It can affect everything from muscle aches to sleeping patterns to stomach problems. Unfortunately it appears little Rhett suffers from it all. The good news? The sleeping and fussing is easing. He actually took a good nap today in his bed after playing a while on a blanket in the floor--both of which he would have NEVER done a week ago!
Now some of you may be skeptical and unable to believe that I would put my new baby through that; however, let me assure you that these are reputable chiropractors who are members of the church and are great with him. There is none of the jerking and bone cracking that you may be envisioning. Anyway, I would highly recommend them. It is a husband/wife team in Jackson. The name is Joyner Chiropractic and they are super nice--and GENTLE! :)
Here is a link to the video of sweet Rhett about an hour after his second adjustment. He is happy and content and smiling! I believe he is telling us how much better he feels--no matter what the reason for his feeling good! :)
