I'm thinking I'm going to LOVE my class this quarter! I have a super cute group of kids; lots of kids. :) About 9 or 10 in all when everyone is there. Did you catch that? 9-10 2-year-olds? I'm I crazy? :) I'm teaching on Genesis and have had some good ideas for a few of the lessons but be warned! I may come to my blogger friends for ideas from time to time!
Now, I know what most of you really want are updates on the kids (no one cares much about our boring "grown-up" lives. Ha). So, I'll start with Lawson. Lawson loves Kindergarten. I am beyond thrilled. It was so hard to leave my baby there wondering how he was going to get through the day without me or his dad or his Nana. What do you know? He did just fine. :) (And I did, too) He has come home on green every day (green is good by the way) and is beginning to read a little. He doesn't really like to read, but will read when I ask him to. For the first few days when I picked him up from school I'd ask how his day was and he'd reply, "It was the BEST DAY EVER!" One day I said, "That's what you said yesterday. How can it be the BEST day again?" His reply was, "I KNOW MOM!!! It just gets better and better every day!"
My Kindergartner!
He's made several new friends and just yesterday informed me that he was having his friends over this weekend. I said, "Oh, really? What day?" He told me, "Saturday of course!" He then proceeded to tell me that I was to arrange a parade on that day. A what? My dad got on the phone with me and said that Lawson wanted a parade planned for that day and when asked why a parade Lawson said he wanted his friends to feel special. Dad asked him what he thought he would need for a parade and he said we would only need some people to walk and play instruments. Then a lightbulb moment: he proudly told Grandaddy that HE could play in his parade. He asked Grandaddy what instrument he would like to play and when my dad answered a piano Lawson thought for a second realizing he could not walk and play one of those and said, "Hmmm, how 'bout you just play a trombone?" Ha. Oh, my Lawson. I just love him! :)
Jagger is adjusting to pre-school twice a week and loves it, too. His teachers love him! But honestly, who wouldn't? Ha. He's learning how to write since he already knows colors, letters, numbers, etc. Jagger has developed a new love of the X-Box. He's getting good too! He and Lawson would play for hours if we'd let them, I think. Over Labor Day weekend we travelled to KY to visit Brandon's parents and the boys got to fish. Jagger was the NATURAL fisherman. Every line he cast out in the water resulted in a bite only minutes after being in the water!
Lawson and his big catch! :)
My two biggies love to go on Security rounds with Grandaddy. Recently Grandaddy had them Security shirts made. They look adorable. Now they can be "official" when they go out with him. ;) One of the ladies that works here on campus commented to me recently that she hears lots of talk about the Security helpers and how cute they are. :) I have to mention though one thing that I think is so neat though. When my dad takes them out with him one of their duties is to lock up Loyd Auditorium (where they have chapel on campus every day). Before they lock everything up, he takes them up on the stage and they stand there in front of that big empty "audience" and sing one Bible song and lead a prayer. I'm glad they are getting "practice" on how to serve God and I'm so grateful to my dad for doing this for them.
"Security Boys"--serving and protecting (and bringing smiles!) :)
The baby: he is a little bundle of joy these days. Such a momma's boy and I'm loving it. He has quite the little personality and is beginning to be able to communicate with us; still through us interpreting grunts and finger points, but still--you have to start somewhere, right? ;) He's all over the place and now imitates his big brothers. He thinks they hung the moon. He has a couple of words now: dog, ball, hello, dad, good. When I come home from work I usually ask him if he's been a good boy and he always shakes his head up and down to indicate yes (whether he's really been good or not! Ha) He's gotten in two more teeth at the bottom and I think is working on a molar or two. I can't believe how fast my time with my babies is going by.
One "rowdy little vol"! :)
Work is beginning to settle down a little now after the start of another school year. I'm finally able to breathe and yesterday made great progress in getting a little more organized after weeks of not being able to find anything! I'm still trying to find the perfect balance between being a good wife, mother and worker. Don't know that I'll ever perfect it but I do know that I'll keep trying.
Brandon and I are hooked on the TV show "24". We can't get enough. We spend most of our weekend nights curled up on the couch glued to that show! We have season 1-6 and are now on season 5. Depending on the episode, sometimes we can stay up until the wee hours of the night watching "just one more episode" because of the way they leave you hanging. I'm not sure how you people that watch during the regular season do it! I mean, watching only one episode and waiting a week to see what happens next???
Anyway, hope this post finds everyone doing well! Enjoy a few pictures from the last few weeks!

I think we are ALL trying to find that balance between being WIFE, MOMMY, and WORKER. It's hard sometimes.
Oh, and I can't wait to see pictures of the "parade!" TOO CUTE!
Oh, and that is the sweetest thing that your Dad is doing for your biggies. That's one good thing about having boys-getting to train them to be church leaders!
Enjoyed the update!
