Another Thankful Thursday!

Is it just me or did Thursday roll around super fast??? Never-the-less, here are a few things I was especially thankful for this week:

1) A husband who gets up in the middle of the night with an extremely fussy baby so I can try to get some sleep.

2) The heater under my desk at work--it is COLD by my window!

3) The Help Desk student workers who have put in countless hours doing the not-so-fun stuff that I don't have time to do. They are GREAT and haven't complained at all--at least to me they haven't complained! :)

4) "Tents" and moments in the "tent" with my biggies!

5) Rhett's first snow!
6) My mom who watches the boys in the afternoon. She makes it so easy to go back to work.

7) Smiles. I'm thankful for smiles from anyone. You can't help but smile back! I'm also thankful for little boy giggles! Sweetest sounds on earth!
8) Comfy sweats. I love to get into my sweats when I get home from work. They are so cozy!

9) My new mug that my husband surprised me with! Now I can enjoy hot cocoa in the mornings on my way to work! He's so thoughtful!

10) Finally, I'm glad I've had another week to think about what I'm thankful for! I'm thankful I've been blessed with one more day to enjoy the people in my life! :)

"Bare"ing all!

I am off to bed early tonight! I need sleep in a BAD way, but I just wanted to take a minute to post a few of these new pics of Rhett. I just love these with his little bare bottom! You can see every dimple. He doesn't know how lucky he is that those are so cute right now! On me they are not so cute! :)

We made a quick trip to the pediatrician today to have his ears checked. All clear. I figured that would be the case; however, after being looked at by the doctor it was decided that he might be suffering from acid reflux and perhaps that's what's been causing him discomfort. We had our first dose of medicine for that to see if it helps. Here's hoping!

Oh, and by the way...he weighed 19.9 lbs! What a big boy. He's gained a pound and a half just since his last appointment a month ago!

25 things?

Ugh!!! I feel sure that there are NOT 25 things about me that are interesting enough for everyone to read...but, since I've been tagged I'll not be a spoil sport and I'll play along. :)

1) Already I'm stumped.
2) So, I'll start with the obvious: I am married to the finest man in the world and have three of the most precious and beautiful boys placed on this earth. (And, I'm not biased at all! :))
3)I turned 30 this year. :(
4)I have terrible eating habits.
5)I'm trying to do better with my daily Bible study and reading.
6)I sleep as late as I possibly can in the mornings.
7)When I was in high-school I could walk in the door right on the minute of my curfew. I was never a minute late, but also never a minute early!
8)This drove my parents nuts!
9) I love American Idol and am addicted!
10) I hate to grocery shop. Actually, Brandon does that for me! I'm one lucky girl!
11) My favorite color is red.
12) I was born in August as was my last baby. It was hot!
13) I am a home-body. I love, love, love to be home.
14) With that said, I also like to take short trips occasionally. Nothing like a road trip with three little ones!
15) I'm a huge Tennessee fan even though Brandon is a huge Kentucky fan. We have come to a compromise where I can root for KY during basketball season if he will cheer for TN during football.
16) My kids will have a complex because of this.
17) I love my iPod. I love to listen to music--mostly 80's.
18) I used to could do the snake, but seem to have lost my rhythm.
19) Brandon's sister was my RA and says she wanted to fix me up with Brandon before I had ever even met him. She never did, but we managed to meet and fall in love anyway. Guess the stars were in line and you just can't stop fate! :)
20) I hate the words Angus and lube. Yuk! Don't even like to type them. Not sure why?
21) I have amazing friends and family. They have made me who I am today and taught me more about giving than I could imagine.
22) I can be pretty handy sometimes and actually like to work with tools (although I don' ever). I love to have a hammer in my hand.
23) I love my mac! Once I finally figured it out a little I wouldn't give it up for anything!
24) I pray that I'm a good wife and mommy and always keep my priorities straight. I want so badly to help lead them to heaven.
25) I am not perfect and struggle a lot but know I serve a forgiving God and am so thankful!

Life is good. Your turn! Who's next??

My little 5 month old

What an amazing (and exhausting) 5 months it has been! So hard to believe my baby is 5 months old! I wish I could slow it just a little. To celebrate the day Rhett had a little cereal. I didn't start Jagger on cereal until he was 6 months old but Lawson had cereal at 4 months old (because he was so big!) so I thought this might be right in the middle. Rhett hasn't been sleeping great and I couldn't decide it was because he needs more to fill up on or if his ear was bothering him. I decided to eliminate one of those possibilities. :)

He tried his cereal today and let's just say he LOVED it! He gobbled it right up as though he'd been eating it  forever.

By the way, J, this photo above is for you. I believe you have one of each of the other boys in black and white. I think this one looks almost identical to the one of Lawson! I wish I had that picture to compare. You'll have to let me know how similar they are!

See any similarities?

Do you see any similarities in the photo above? Personally, I do not, but if you are a 3 year old you might! I have been intending to post this on my blog but with going back to work full time it just hasn't happened. The blog has become the neglected child of our household.

This week was  pretty big week in a lot of ways. There have been changes in our household with new schedules to adjust to, but also changes in our country as our new President was sworn into office. Brandon was at home with the boys during the inauguration. The boys had questions about it all. Brandon explained that President Obama was now the leader of America. Jagger said, "You mean like Captain America???" You see, to a 3 year old everything in some way or another can relate to super-heroes! :) I hope that we see similarities in the patriotism and protectiveness of our beloved country.

Lawson had more in-depth questions and we talked about the day's events before going to bed. We talked about how President Obama was elected by the majority of the people, even though we were not one of the "majority". Sweet Lawson said, "That was nice of the people to choose him." I explained that we did not really agree with some of his views and that the President had a lot of choices ahead of him and we needed to pray that he asked God for help in making those choices. Lawson asked if he went to church. I was not sure what to say and before I could say anything Lawson said, "Well, I've never SEEN him at church!"

It's been an interesting week, but a good week. I've loved having things to sit down and talk to my kids about and enjoy our time together in the evenings.

Thanksgiving Thursday

Several of my blogging friends have started up Thanksgiving Thursdays where we take a minute to reflect on what we are thankful for that week. I know I've been terrible about posting to my blog lately. Time has escaped me and well, I just haven't kept up. But... here's my list:

1. The obvious: FAMILY. I love mine. I think they are the greatest in the world. My family includes my amazing husband, my wonderfully energetic little boys (one of who is fidgeting in my lap as I try to type!), my mom and dad, my brother who is MUCH too far away, fantastic grandparents and some pretty amazing aunts, uncles and cousins. And how lucky am I? I have great in-laws who are too far away as well! (Have I left anyone out? Probably. But, I'm thankful for you too, if you are one of them! :))

2. My home. Such a cozy place to come home to every day. It may be the family inside the home that makes it so cozy but I'm thankful for shelter from the weather and a comfortable place to rest at night.

3. Hugs. It's what has helped me make it to 5:00 every day this week! :)

4. Tylenol! It helped us all sleep last night!

5. Our country. We are a very blessed nation. I'm thankful for the freedoms we have and that our voices can be heard.

6. Prayer. I'm thankful that I can pray about anything and everything on my mind. I know that I have a supporter in all things and someone that will NEVER turn their back on me and will ALWAYS listen!

7. Bedtime stories and snuggles. It's the most precious part of my day. Knowing that we all get to have that special time together to sit and talk about the day, read a story, review Bible questions, pray and say goodnight are times I treasure.

8. Family and jobs that make it possible to be a "working mommy". I've said many times that without this amazing combo I wouldn't be able to do what I do and feel good about it. God has blessed me with the means to both take care of my family financially and be a good mommy to them and wife to Brandon as well.

9. Wonderful friends that serve and such amazing support and encouragement to me! I love you all!

10. The weekend! I always love the weekends where our family is all together! We cherish every moment!

Now it's your turn! What are you thankful for today?

Tomorrow...

I have two sick little boys. My two biggies are both coming down with nasty colds. Lawson even sounds like he has a sore throat but says it doesn't hurt, so we'll see what happens with that. Still, they have been couped up inside our house since lunch time yesterday. By this evening they were really beginning to get on each others' nerves. They were picking back and forth at each other. Lawson would put his feet on Jagger and Jagger would whine. Then Jagger would threaten to throw Lawson in jail and on and on and on. At one point Jagger said something to Lawson about wanting him to go away and I commented, "Why can't you two just be nice to each other?" The response from Jagger? "I'll be nice tomorrow!" So I asked, "Why can't you be nice right now?" My sweet insightful little boy answers, "Because it's not tomorrow, yet!" How do you respond to that??? :)
