How can it be...

...that my baby started full-out crawling the same day he started pulling up??? I was hoping to spread these big boy milestones out just a bit!!! Slow down, sweet boy! I love that he's so proud of himself, though!

Theme--My Friend and I

This week's category over at i heart faces is "My Friend and I". I just love this picture of my two "biggies". This was taken last summer in our back yard. I just loved it because of the brightness and of course because of those sweet faces! I realize that my bias may influence my opinion but, I believe these are two of the most precious faces on earth! :) Even though they are brothers and only two years apart in age AND have the occasional knock down, drag out fight, they, for the most part, are best friends and are so pleasing to watch play together. The, "you're my best friend, brother" statements that I hear so often are music to a proud mom's ear! :) So, with that said, I couldn't think of a better picture to use for "friend" theme. :)

The moment we've been waiting for!

As I said in an earlier post, Lawson has some big news. Well, big for a 5 year old anyway. For a few weeks now we had been watching a tooth that seemed to get a little looser every day. Monday when I picked him up from school he told me that it had gotten VERY loose in the gym while playing. I looked at it for him and saw that it was literally about to fall out. I asked him if he wanted me to pull it and he emphatically said NO! So, I didn't.

I dropped him off at mom's for the afternoon and he showed them how loose it was and I again asked if he was sure he didn't want me to pull it. Again, NO! So, I head back to work.

I had been at work all of 5-10 minutes when I got a phone call. It was Lawson on the phone with squeals of delight! The first thing he said to me? "Mom, guess what??? I have GREAT news!" Then he told me that he was sucking on a straw and the tooth fell out and he had spit it on the floor. Ha. I knew it wouldn't take much for that tooth to fall out. He was so excited! I wish I could have recorded the phone call! It was hilarious!

That night he would at random times say, "Isn't it great mom that my tooth fell out?" Ha. Finally Jagger told him that he was tired of hearing about that tooth and it was giving him a headache. Ha. Old news to sweet Jag who has been without two front teeth since August. He just couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. :)

Anyway, here are the pictures my dad snapped right after the tooth came out. In one of them Lawson is holding the tooth in his hand although it is so tiny you can BARELY see it. The tooth fairy did not disappoint and left him a dollar under his pillow which he was MOST happy to find the next morning.

As I said, BIG news in the Young household. My baby is growing up, I'm afraid...

A quick word

Below are a few new pictures of my boys. It initially started out with me trying to get a few pictures of Rhett. Time got away from me and I never got any of him right at 6 months so I took a few over the weekend and got some 7 month shots. They turned out ok...nothing to write home about. He wasn't in the most cooperative of moods so we just did the best we could.

I did manage to get some of him with his little Bible. I have some of the other boys like this and they have always been some of my favorite pictures.

Of course my biggies had to get in on the camera fun, too. They were quite full of themselves and made the camera happy. Hope you enjoy the new pics.

Also be sure to check back in a couple of days for a very special post! (And just to put your minds at rest, no, we are NOT announcing another baby! Ha! Those days are long gone! ) :) Rather, this announcement will come from Lawson but there are pictures to go with it that I haven't been able to get downloaded yet. Hopefully we will have those soon! :) So stay tuned! And in the mean-time, enjoy the new pics.

Theme--Pouty Face

Not sure that this qualifies as a "pouty" face or a "I'm so mad I'm going to scream loud enough for everyone in the county to hear" face. None-the-less, this is my entry--of my precious happy baby boy who is now happy almost every minute of the day--EXCEPT when I'm trying to take a picture! :) Head on over to i heart faces to see more entries or enter one of your own.

Theme--No Flash

When I saw this week's category for the photo contest at iheartfaces I immediately knew which photo I wanted to use. This is one of my ALL TIME favorite photos. It is an old one--one I took more than three years ago. This is my middle child just before he turned a year old. We had gone to visit my brother in St. Louis when my baby came down sick--VERY sick--running a fever over 105 degrees! We even took him to the emergency room that evening. Several hours later they let us go telling us it was just a virus. Bless his heart! He was SO sick and felt horrible. The next morning he tried so hard to feel good and play. He played for a few minutes in the big down comforter of my brother's. The sunlight was beaming in from the bedroom window and thinking what a pretty picture it would make I grabbed my camera. I don't think I would have captured such a beautiful shot if he had been feeling 100%. He is rarely still enough to snap a picture, but feeling bad and having low energy allowed this beautiful shot. :) It will always be one of my favs!

March Madness

Most people know what a huge Kentucky basketball fan Brandon is and he's passing on his love of it to his boys as well. Our friends Chad and Sandy happen to be Duke fans--let the trash talking begin! Ha! I assure you it is all done in good fun but Chad and Brandon do their share of trash talking. Sandy and I talked about how funny it was that her three boys had blue Duke shirts and my three had blue Kentucky shirts. Then, an idea for a picture was born. We decided it would be too cute to have their picture taken in the opposing team apparel. We got them together this weekend and they were all so good. You can't see some of their shirts but still it was a cute little picture. Although I see lots more trash talking in the future I know these boys will continue to do it in great fun just like their daddies! :)

A special note: There are many new posts below. I had misplaced my camera cord so I couldn't get the pictures off my camera until tonight. Sorry for the flood of posts all in one night.
